Wanting to Add Value Just Isn't Enough
“You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want.” - Zig Ziglar
“You get paid in direct proportion to the difficulty of problems you solve”- Elon Musk
our true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment. The key is understanding the difference between price and value. - “The Go giver”
Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them. Here we look at the importance of impacting large numbers of people. “The Go giver”
For the longest time I was caught in a world where I wanted to add value but really wasn’t doing anything for anyone. I desperately wanted to help other people but wasn’t offering a solution to their problems. For 2 years I struggled to make money. My business was failing and my personal brand was going nowhere. Only recently did I decide to start serving other people as profoundly as I could without expectation of anything in return. Given that I wasn’t making a lot of money anyway I figured I might as well start offering myself to the world for free. Money had become a barrier that was keeping me from getting the necessary experience I needed, so I took it off the table. I realized that my income was a direct reflection of the value I had to offer and that If I wanted to become more valuable I needed to attain mastery in my chosen fields. It was simple, I wasn’t being paid because I wasn’t helping anyone. I was trying to sell people on my services when I had no results to show them. People don’t care about degrees or good selling points. They don’t want to know what books you have read or what you have studied. People care about results. They have problems that needs to be solved and want to know that and you can help them get the results they want. If you want to sell someone on how you can add value to their life then show them a time when you have done it for someone else. Tony Robbins says, “the secret to living is giving.” Only in the last month have I adopted this lesson into my lifest
yle. Never before have I experienced so much growth. I feel as though I am stepping out of scarcity and into abundance. Money is flowing in. the only difference is I am no longer chasing the money. I am chasing impact and value. I am striving to make myself someone of worth by adding more value than receive back. If your life isn’t where you want it to be. Maybe you are lacking in one area or another. It could be that you need more love, money, energy, time, etc….. Remember the secret to living is giving. Give of yourself first without expectation. Dig the well before you are thirsty and see if it doesn’t all come back to you!
